WOW Been awhile. Kids are doing fine. Both have jobs they like. Doc says I need a new knee and it's only time until I decide to get one. Wasn't sure how I was walking as well as I am now. Have had a health "joke" played on me by the powers that be. Felt a possible abscess in my nose a few weeks ago. A week or so later I've got Rudolph's nose sitting on mine. Looked hilarious. My doctor took care of it more or less which is what you see. My apologies for not thinking about getting a pic at it's zenith.

So ... got a phone call from Reed and it seems things are going satisfactorily so far. Above is the living room of their apt. A bit sparse but livable. Evidently Jade's working as a bartender and Reed's got a job in a warehouse. Somewhat physical and tiring but he doesn't go to the gym now to work out, just home to sleep.

I Am Bereft
Today Reed and Jade left for new jobs in The Big Apple. Jade's Aunt is some kind of Events Planner in NYC and she wants them to come and help her. They're all excited but first they have to move to New York and that starts today. I took two pictures. One putting the three uncooperative cats into the back seet and then a final wave goodbye.

Found some old family pictures that I'd forgotten I had so I thought I'd add them. There are more family pics in 2020.
Clockwise from Mom and Dad, Ralph and Caroline Meyer is me Ralph Jr., age 29, Mark age 18, Joe age 27, Sue, his new wife, Herb age 22, and Rick age 19. As I recall, we took this picture the night Joe and Sue got married in the Circus, They were the third act. The Circus thought this would be a good idea so they advertized and Joe and Sue were picked. I believed it is late summer of 1979 just after the ceramony at Mom and Dad's apt in Reno NV. The picture was taken by my girlfriend Michelle Oviatt.
This picture is from sometime in the early 1950s, I believe and features my maternal grandparents, Herb and Gusty Schmidt, along with three of their four daughters and their husbands. Missing is Leona and Harry Halberg. Front row L-R is my mother and father Caroline and Ralph Meyer, Mildred and Harold 'Jug' Schmelz. In the back is my mother's twin Adaline and Harland Palmquist.
