Didn't manage to get Reed up early but we got going about 11. Breakfast at IHOP was a non starter as everyone in town seemed to want to be there. So MickyD's for breakfast and then on to the Nauticus Naval Museum and USS Wisconsin. About 3 hours there and Reed took some pics. Afterwards, on Reed's suggestion, we went to my first experience at Hooters. Simply lovely waitresses and excellent service. Definitely deserved the $5 tip we left.
So Reed and I took off yesterday a bit late as he got in from his basketball party at 3:30am. Made it on the road by 11. Virginia Beach by 3 where it was cold and rainy but lots of kids around. Toured the beach area just a bit and then went to look for a motel. Prices were high nearer the beach as this is their College Beach Weekend. We did manage to find one reasonably priced a few miles away in Hampton. On the way we managed to find the Nauticus Naval Museum and the biggest ship I'd ever seen not including air craft carriers-- The USS Wisconsin. Looks like that's our destination today.

Brother Joe was recently inducted into the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here are some pics and the story.
A Black Hills band that toured the Midwest in the late 60s to early 70s was inducted into the South Dakota Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Saturday.
The band, Shells of Time, included a core of four Hot Springs High School students, according to the South Dakota Rock and Roll Music Association's website. They are:
Mike English, Rich Schuttler, Craig Katt, Frank Crowell,
Two other former Hot Springs students in the band were Tom Murati and Brad Baldwin
Several Black Hills State University students and others were added to the band in the 1970s, including Rick Tetreault of Whitewood; Rick Gusso, Tim Sessions, Joe Meyer, Jeff Anderson and Brad Watson.
Shells of Time toured an 11-state area from 1967 to 1975, riding between gigs in a school bus painted red, white and blue.
The group reunited to perform before a large audience at the Ramkota Convention Center in Sioux Falls before accepting the award alongside a handful of other acts.
Among other groups inducted Saturday was the Red Willow Band comprised of Chris Gage, Kenny Putnam, Hank Harris, Barry Carpender and Marley Forman.

Another superlative in golf today. Now, previously I claimed the course record for most trees hit on one hole as I hit one with my first shot, one with my second and two with my third for a total of 4 trees on one hole. Today I awarded myself with the title of King of Lost Balls. I was practice chipping next to the putting green. Chipped one off the heel of the club, didn't see where it went and couldn't find it. Lost a ball next to the putting green. Now according to my personal religion, the golf gods consider 4 letter words as prayers. :-)

Took Reed over to Washington yesterdays so he could spend the long weekend with a friend of his from St John's. Had some problems with our GPS tooling around Washington and trying to find the place but finally got there. Ry was doing something else so headed back to H'burg after getting a footlong at Harris Tweeter. Did get a note from the Florida Dept of Ed saying all they needed was my fingerprints checked and I'd have a Florida Teaching Certificate.
