Brother Joe was recently inducted into the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here are some pics and the story. A Black Hills band that toured the Midwest in the late 60s to early 70s was inducted into the South Dakota Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Saturday. The band, Shells of Time, included a core of four Hot Springs High School students, according to the South Dakota Rock and Roll Music Association's website. They are: Mike English, Rich Schuttler, Craig Katt, Frank Crowell, Two other former Hot Springs students in the band were Tom Murati and Brad Baldwin Several Black Hills State University students and others were added to the band in the 1970s, including Rick Tetreault of Whitewood; Rick Gusso, Tim Sessions, Joe Meyer, Jeff Anderson and Brad Watson. Shells of Time toured an 11-state area from 1967 to 1975, riding between gigs in a school bus painted red, white and blue. The group reunited to perform before a large audience at the Ramkota Convention Center in Sioux Falls before accepting the award alongside a handful of other acts. Among other groups inducted Saturday was the Red Willow Band comprised of Chris Gage, Kenny Putnam, Hank Harris, Barry Carpender and Marley Forman.
